This Saturday, 10th October, is the UK's second annual Social Saturday, and to celebrate our CEO, Jeremy, and Jason from The Soap Co.’s factory in Keswick are undertaking a long distance bike ride, cycling from the factory to Manchester and visiting as many social enterprises at they can on the way.
Setting off from Keswick on Tuesday 6th October, Jeremy and Jason will cycle the 120 miles to Manchester over 5 days, visiting social enterprises in across Cumbria, Lancashire, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire before finishing at Social Saturday’s flagship event on Deansgate in Manchester on Saturday 10th October.
Jeremy and Jason will be writing about their progress daily at the Bike Social website and you can tweet your support with the hashtag #bikesocial.
Please also support Social Saturday by buying from a social enterprise on Saturday 10th October, and tweet your support with the hashtag #SocialSaturday.
Social Saturday is run by Social Enterprise UK to raise awareness of just how easy it is to support businesses that trade quality items and services and invest profits in projects supporting the local community, international development, the environment, charities and a wealth of other progressive schemes.
We caught up with Simeon to talk about his experience working on this project and to express our gratitude for the amazing job he and his team have done creating this wonderful piece that has moved so many of our supporters, clients and customers.
This week has been interesting. For those who don’t know, due to a similarity in names with a company called Soap & Co. which has been investigated by BBC Newsnight, many people mistook our brand for theirs.
We have been made aware of a BBC investigation into a company called SOAP & CO. Our company THE SOAP CO. has absolutely no connection to SOAP & CO. We are a completely separate company. This is us: https://thesoapco.org.
