This week, we are delighted to interview Emily Beeson, founder of the brilliant blog, YOUNG GOLD TEETH.
YOUNG GOLD TEETH is an eclectic and inspirational blog celebrating creative lifestyles and curating original art and design.
What do you love about Christmas?
Winter is my favourite time of year and although it’s cold, dark and generally dreary, it’s a great time for the designer/makers and indie businesses I love and support with my blog.
I’m from the south east of England so the lead-up to Christmas has always conjured memories of the snow-coated downs, tiny shops in Brighton’s lanes and Lewes’ cobbled streets, cosy evenings at my parents' house by the fire and fresh walks in frosty woods wrapped up in handmade woolens.
I love gift shopping so relish the opportunity to be creative with presents, make my own gift hampers, check out the Christmas windows and campaigns and support my favourite creatives by shopping local and independent at this time of year.
What is your favourite Good Gift?
Something handmade and natural. The best gifts I’ve ever gotten have been pieces of artisan jewellery and knitwear, hand-poured candles made in London and stationery or prints from UK designers. I do love a magazine and natural, small-batch beauty products too so I’m always thrilled to receive a couple of my favourites to read on the train and calm my dry skin in the winter months.
Is it biased if I say that I especially love The Soap Co.’s Wild Fig and Poppy hand lotion?
What is the best gift you’ve ever given?
Earlier this year I surprised my partner with a trip to the south coast of Spain for a weekend wellness retreat. It was the end of the summer so the weather was perfect. We hung out in the spa, ate amazing healthy food, did yoga and spent a lot of time in the pool surrounded by beautiful palm trees.
On the last night we went a bit off the rails with a few jugs of sangria and plenty of tapas but the whole weekend was a great gift to ourselves. It’s a joy to treat the people you love but you should always remember to take good care of yourself too.
Thank you Emily.
