Growing social enterprise on the hunt for an ambitious self-starter to super charge our retail growth.

Are you passionate about making a difference and ready for a challenge? Are you looking for a role where you can ‘get stuck in’ and no two days are the same? Do you have the gift of the gab, can think on your feet and have tireless energy to use your skills for social good?

Great news – you may have just found your dream job!

CLARITY & Co. is at an exciting and pivotal point in its history. Come along and help us accelerate!

So, what's the role?

We're on the hunt for an exceptional human who will thrive in the challenge of bringing our two customer facing brands, BECO. and The Soap Co., to all the biggest retailers in the UK and beyond. This role is a hybrid sales and account management role that will develop and own the retail strategy for our two retail brands.

What will you be getting up to?

This role will grow and develop as the company does, but in a nutshell:

Charm Grow and develop highly successful commercial relationships with our existing retailers (account management) to increase current business; locking in deals by assisting in creating, negotiating and closing commercial agreements.

Strategy Manage and develop brand and commercial plans for key accounts. As part of this you will devise and implement promotional plans, range changes and work with marketing to identify any shared marketing opportunities.

Ownership Monitor sales and performance, acting as the key knowledge point for retail within the organisation.

Get creative Thrive in the challenge of securing brand exposure within store without the deep pockets of big brands.

Sales Creatively preparing for, and pitching to, new customers including creating assets and documents to support your pitch.

Project manage Own the cross-functional launch plan for any retail new product development from ideation to launch.

Management Managing, coordinating and working with volunteers and interns.

Networking, but not as you know (/hate) it. Attend events, conferences and trade shows to network and speak, spreading the word about our organisation to people from a diverse range of industries.

Who are we?

CLARITY & Co. may be the oldest social enterprise in England (we were founded in 1854), but we don't let age hold us back! In the past 4 years, we've launched 2 award winning brands that prove products can both be good and do good.

We specialise in creating the UK's most ethical personal care and household brands. We employ 115 people, creating 10,000+ days of work annually for people with disabilities or other barriers to work. Our social and environmental responsibilities sit side by side – we see soap as a vehicle for change. So, when you're working hard, you're not doing it to line the pockets of some faceless shareholder, but rather creating jobs and changing peoples' lives for the better.

Yeh, it's pretty awesome. Oh, and we have guide dogs.

Who are we after?
  • Ideally minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in sales, retail or FMCG.
  • Knows their way around Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Natural aptitude for numbers, problem-solving skills and thinking on their feet. Basically, you'd nail both Countdown and the Crystal Maze.
  • Outgoing and confident communicator with a track record of interacting and influencing people from all levels of seniority.
  • Formal sales training (desirable).
  • An open-minded approach to the role and a flexible, can-do attitude.
  • Highly organised and able to multi-task and prioritise within tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable taking the initiative.
  • A passion for social change and diversity.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious and pro-active with the ability to see projects through to completion.

We know that no one grows up dreaming of selling soap, but what about changing the lives of people less fortunate? That's a pretty good reason to get out of bed in the morning.
